Acupuncture Therapy

Acupuncture allows self healing by activating specific points on the body to encourage the circulation of blood and vital energy within your system.

Acupuncture works to restore the natural flow of these substances, thereby boosting the body’s own healing capabilities on both a physical and mental level. A treatment acts as a call to action for the body to pay attention to the issue at hand and utilize the resources it has available to correct imbalances. With a nudge in the right direction, the body knows how to proceed.

Our Diagnostic Tools:

Shen-Hammer Pulse Diagnosis: (Chinese Contemporary Pulse Diagnosis/CCPD) :

The Healing House practitioners are trained in the world renowned Shen-Hammer Pulse System. This system has been passed down over fifteen generations and is an amazing diagnostic tool. The pulse sheds light on how your body is functioning as a whole, as well as providing the ability to see the relative health of individual organs and how they are each contributing to the body as a whole.

Tongue Diagnosis:

Your practitioner wants to look at your tongue. The tongue is the only external way to see what’s going on inside in your body. Practitioners look at the size, shape, color, and coat of your tongue, as well as any markings that may be present. Each of these characteristics have specific diagnostic indications and lead your practitioner in a particular direction to treat your condition.

Channel Palpation:

Another major diagnostic tool is the palpation of the channels of the arms and legs below the elbow and knee. The “Channels” or “Meridians”, are specific energy pathways present within the body along which acupuncture points are located. The Channels, for the most part, run bi-laterally along the body from the fingers or toes and meet at the head. Just as cars driving along a highway can either be flowing smoothly, or caught in a traffic jam, the same can occur within the body. Disease and other factors such as stress, can create “traffic jams” in the form of palpable nodules along the channels. Where these obstructions occur, as well as the size, shape, and relative hardness or softness of the nodule, is diagnostically significant. Often these findings are present in chronic musculo-skeletal pain conditions. Once the obstruction is cleared, relief of symptoms soon follows.
